SHORT BIO
Claudia Mont ’Alvão graduated as Industrial Design (1994), with competence in Product Design. Concluded M.Sc. (1997) and D.Sc. (2001) in Transport Engineering, main area Traffic Engineering, at Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute – Graduate School and Research in Engineering/ COPPE (http://www.coppe.ufrj.br/english) at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
She was a teacher of the postgraduate course in Work Medicine of Gama Filho University, with the discipline Ergonomics (1996-1998), besides being also a teacher of other institutions as University of the State of the Rio of January (UERJ / campus Resende), University Estácio de Sá and Faculty Carioca. In 1998 joined the Department of Arts & Design of PUC-Rio (http://www.dad.puc-rio.br), like part-time teacher, passing as full-time professor and researcher in 2002. From that time, she is acting in the Ergonomics Laboratory (LEUI), with Professor Anamaria de Moraes, in research theme Ergonomics and Usability and Human-computer Interaction.
Claudia is acting since 1998 in Design and Ergonomics areas, joining the organization and technical scientific committee of national and international events, as Brazilian Congress of Research and development in Design (P&D), International Congress of Design Research, Ergodesign, USIHC, Brazilian Ergonomics Association Congresses.
At present Claudia is professor of graduation and post graduation in the Department of Arts & Design of the PUC-Rio. Concluded the supervising of 09 dissertations of master's degree, and up today supervises 02 doctorate thesis and 04 dissertations of master's degree.
Developing the research line Ergonomics and Usability and Human-computer Interaction, is responsible by the subject “Ergonomics and Transport systems: products and information; technological innovations and traffic safety”, putting together three areas: Design, Ergonomics and Transport engineering.
